Okey is a traditional tile-based game with a rich history and numerous variations. It remains highly popular in Turkey among Turkish players, who typically enjoy it in coffee houses across all age groups. The game closely resembles Rummy or Rummikub, sharing the same set of tiles and board but featuring distinct rules.

The game offers a realistic experience with a simple yet effective interface and engaging gameplay. Okey is played by four participants using a set of 106 tiles, of which 104 are numbered from 1 to 13 in four different colors. Each player begins with 14 tiles on their board. During each turn, a player draws one tile and discards one tile, aiming to form a complete hand comprising sets and runs with all 14 tiles. Special tiles known as jokers are randomly selected each game and assist players by substituting missing tiles in forming valid sets or runs. The remaining two tiles, marked with stars, are designated as false jokers; contrary to expectations, they function as regular numbered tiles in gameplay.

In Okey, if a player attempts to declare victory and discards a tile that disrupts their groups, the problematic groups are visually highlighted in red to facilitate correction. Additionally, players can tap and hold a tile for three seconds to flip it—this function primarily serves as a reminder for joker tiles within the game environment.
